I suppose it was okay when she was confined to the Disney sect, but now she's all over my People magazine, flashing a peace sign and puckering her lips at the paparazzi she phoned to follow her around LA. Or she's posing on the red carpet with a terribly desperate pout and a set of awkward bedroom eyes.
She's like a shark in the water when it comes to the cameras. You can smell her hunger for fame. It's insatiable.
And now the "Vanity Fair Scandal."

Miley says she's embarrassed. She says she didn't realize that the "artistic" photograph she believed she was taking at the time of this photoshoot (with Annie fucking Leibovitz, for Christ's sake- a world famous, totally renowned amazing photographer) was going to turn out like this. She thought it would be tasteful. She's mortified. She wants to apologize to her fans. She feels taken advantage of.
The only person being taken advantage of is anyone who actually believes her.
First of all, Miley is a famewhore. She calls paparazzi agencies to set up pictures of her and equally fame hungry mother coming out of JuiceBar or PinkBerry. Peace signs. Big grins. So happy. So unplanned.
Yeah, right.
Secondly, Miley has taken provocative shots of herself (in varying stages of undress) that have recently leaked onto the Internet. So a little sheet-covering-the-goods action isn't anything to balk at. What's more, the look in her eyes in the candid sexy shots is the same look as the Vanity Fair shot above.
Hungry.
Wanton.
An attempt at adult.
I'm not going to debate the moral issues that surround child stars and whether or not they should be worked the way they are worked in the business. That's not my issue.
My issue is this: don't lie. Don't say you didn't realize the nature of the picture you were taking when you know damn good and well that your naked torso covered by a sheet, tousled hair, red lips and hooded eyelids scream SEX. Don't pretend you didn't know what you were doing when you dipped your chin and clutched the sheet close to your chest. Don't. Even. Play.
It's sad that girls look up to Miley. And that she's now "apologizing" for her actions when she knew the severity of her actions in the first place. The apology is just to placate the parents of the little girls that buy Hannah Montana lunch boxes and bedsheets and preteen thong underwear. The apology is a ruse, smoke and mirrors, a strategy, a tactic. It's to throw the scent off Miss Cyrus and onto Vanity Fair, who- how dare they?!- took advantage of a poor, defenseless, naive, completely innocent 15 year old girl.
Puh-leese.
And, a sidenote: what in the hell is with her mouth in that picture, anyway? It looks stained, smeared. Like she just guzzled some kool-aid (she IS 15...) What did Buffy said about The Master (season 1, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, don't tell me you didn't watch when you were 14)? "You've got fruit punch mouth."
And stop witht the "sexy" pout, Cyrus. You're no Jolie.
Ta.
