Is there an age requirement on couture?

I think there is.

Today, fashionista asks the question, "If you're wearing Chanel couture at 15, what do you have to look forward to?"

Emma Watson was draped in Chanel throughout the press tour for the latest Harry Potter installment- and I mean draped. Girlfriend had the hookup, and fashion editors were proclaiming her the "next Chanel muse."

So what is Emma going to be draped in at 25? 35? 45?

Chanel is often considered the pinnacle of fashion- especially when it comes to cost. A handbag doesn't set you back a few hundred, it sets you back a few thousand. And a Chanel gown? Please. Double, triple, quadruple that.

Shouldn't there be a bit of a progression? You do the Coach thing (gag) in middle school, move up to a little Marc by Marc or a great Botkier in high school, save for Marc Jacobs (Stam, anyone?) in your early twenties, then graduate to big splurges like YSL, Chanel and Balenciaga as your yearly salary increases. It's a fashion ladder- you must crawl before you walk.
